Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchuG)
Since 1 December 2023, the University of Bonn has an Internal Reporting Office in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG).

On 1 December 2023 - in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) (Circular 36/2023) - an Internal Reporting Office has been established at the University of Bonn. The HinSchG is meant to provide the best possible protection for whistleblowers. The aim is to protect them from their identity becoming known and from possible discrimination. The establishment of this reporting office is based on the EU Whistleblower Directive 2019/1937, which was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on 23 October 2019.
If you are aware of legal violations or misconduct at our university, you can now report these to the university's Internal Reporting Office. There you can also find all information on further contact options for reporting legal violations or misconduct. All reports will be treated strictly confidentially and in compliance with the Whistleblower Protection Act. The PRwiss must always be involved if a report has consequences under personnel law for the employees represented.
Even though the Staff Council of Academic Employees has a great interest in ensuring that our university acts in accordance with the law, it must also protect the employees it represents from false accusations. For this reason, during the coordination process for the implementation of the HinSchG at our university, we have worked to ensure that demonstrably false accusations are prosecuted, even though this is not easy in the case of anonymous information and reports - which are also possible as part of the whistleblower protection system at our university.
